We were going on a holiday. Not our normal type of week away but a big one that I wanted our children to remember as well as they could. As a result I wanted to buy a travel journal for them to record their own memories of the holiday so when they’re older they remember what it felt like to cross the Golden Gate bridge, meet Mickey Mouse and see Giant Pandas in San Diego Zoo. (Yes, pandas… they were amazing, they’ve stuck in my mind and I do love denim too…)
I looked for these elusive travel books in shops and online but couldn’t find one that did everything I was looking for so I decided I’d make my own. And that’s the very first Denim Panda journal. I included pages for recording memories and lots of activities for the flight or to keep the kids occupied while waiting for food in restaurants. (We had a lot of people comment about how nice it is to see the children chatting and writing in restaurants with no electronics in sight… maybe it’s just that Americans are quicker to praise strangers but this isn’t something we hear all that often normally!)
There’s no need to be going on a big holiday to get a Denim Panda journal: I have now created them for 7 and 14 day beach holidays, 7 day camping trips, New York and Thailand as well as short breaks to Lapland and more are coming soon. Watch out for UK holidays, Spain, France, Italy and skiing journals in the next few weeks.
If you would like to suggest a destination, please do let me know. And if you’re heading off on a significant holiday soon, get in touch to request more information about bespoke journals. I’d love to hear from you!
